The saga of WifeRam continues...

So been having some trouble with the brakes on my wife's 2004 Ram 1500 4wd. The abs kicks in with medium to moderate brake application, when the tires aren't even remotely close to locking up.

I've bled them, that didn't really help. I just changed to new front rotors+pads, that helped move the abs threshold higher but it still does it.

Any thoughts? Ideas? I've never seen such a spastically overactive abs before.

Random abs operation is normally a wheel soeed sebsor acting up. Your going to need a scanner to see the speed sensors. When they activate like that at slow speeds or random it's usually the sensor cutting out

Thanks. Will a scanner reveal this fault even if there's no warning light? It's never thrown a trouble code or warning light.

Yes is will store codes in it that sometimes won't throw a light.

Werd. Will report back.

I'm assuming you have a modified 6.4 car?

Welp that didn't work; the scanner showed no codes or errors.

I don't have a car lol just the trucks!

If you can get a decent scanner go drive while monitoring the abs sensors and see which one is cutting out. Normally going slow under 10mph range will trigger them coming to a stop

Sometimes they'll go in and out so fast that the live data won't catch it. Like Keith said try doing a live graph
