rim sizes for drag racing

Im finally looking for a drag wheel and tire setup for my 05 ram. After slapping the 4.56s and a true track i found i often have problems hooking. They truck doesnt have crazy mods but i will leave the list here. Im currently on my "economy" tune.

1.s and b intake
2.moes 87mm portel throttle body
3.motive 4.56 gears with detriot true track
4.pacesetter long tube headers
5. Full exaust with magnaflow resonated x pipe.
6. Diablosport trinity with a custom tune from greene racing.

The truck often runs street but i plan on running this thing on the track this year. I saw the drag setup post but found no info on what i actually needed. I want to run pro 17s comp 69 series rim and they want back spacing and a bunch of measurements. I dont need a crazy sticky setup yet but im thinking of running skinnies up front and a 275 or around that on the rear. Any help would be great

If you are interested in 17". Then a rim you might check is the Dodge SS/T they are 17x9 and weighs about 25 lbs.

Run the slicks 28/10/17 and on whatever rim you want you won't spin. With your mods you could actually run them around 18-20 psi and still hook easily

A 275 drag radial will be faster at the track then a true slick, and with your mods, you will hook without any trouble with a 275/50/17 drag radial...plenty of guys out there cutting mid 1.6 60' times with the 275 radials on these trucks. I would run them on the SST wheels that Greg mentioned. The backspacing on the SST wheel is much better than on the Pro Comp's, so they will sit in the fender better.
