Powder Coat Stock 20 Polished Rims from '03 & tires???

2003 Dodge Hemi Quad Cab 4x4
Patriot Blue

It's time for new tires. This spring I added pocket flares which I had painted a flat black so I want to do something different.

Two questions;

1) Has anyone powder coated their stock 20 inch rims? I'm thinking of going with flat black. Thoughts? Pics if anyone has them. It's cheaper than buying new rims ($60 rim). The clear coat is starting to chip so resale value I would think is low as they sit.

2) I think I have the tires narrowed down to;

Dunlop Rover Max Traction
275/65R20 or 305/55R20

Micky Thompson Baja ATZ
325/50R20

I can get the Thompsons for $290/pc which I think is a good price but I need to check my rims to see if they are wide enough.

If I go with the Dunlops I'm worried the 275 won't look wide enough with my flares so I may go with 305. The 275 are $267/pc and the 305 are $322/pc.

Let me know what you think about painting the rims and my tire options. If you have a strong opinion on other tire options within the $350 or less price range let me know.

Thanks;

I have seen people powdercoat rims on here before I believe....not sure if there are pics down in the wheels sections or not. I would imagine the 325's "should" fit. I had 305's on mine with no question. You could always do a 305/55R20 if they have it. But 20mm isn't even an inch of tread so hopefully that works out for you. Those are sweet tires. A guy I know with an F-150 has a set of those on 20's.

Going down a different route. I've opted to drop down to 17" rims. Going to add a rough country 4-5" suspension lift and put on Mickey Thompson MTZ(315/70R17). Now the hunt starts for rims. I'll post pics once I'm done.
