Ah and here we see where Cerberus wants to go. A post last week about no more Hemi's and now we are making front drive roadsters in China. I have a feeling the bean counters have gained too much control.

I need someone to explain something too me. I am serious. I keep reading in different articles that cars are produced front wheel drive for emissions reasons. Just like Dodge says about this car. What does which wheels move the car have to do with the emissions out of the engine? Does anyone know?

Well Caddilac is going back to RWD, they shouldn't have messed with a good thing to begin with, as should Chrysler.

To me the issue isn't handling, FWD can be very capable. But if I'm going to buy a little sports coupe or roadster, it is GOING to be RWD, I would never consider a FWD car. It's to much more fun, even if they're underpowered you can have fun with it.

Never had one do that fortunately. Those were the OEM tires that came on it. Later I changed to Phoenix Stahlflex tires and Bilstein shocks and it handled like it was on rails.

Guess you haven't rode in an Srt-4 Neon or Pt Cruiser GT eh? I guarantee you will change your mind if you go for a ride in my cruiser....little SOB flies! I don't think it will matter much as to whether or not this little car is front wheel drive or rear wheel drive, as most of the people buying it will be yuppies anyway.....It is a beautiful little car, but if they are outsourcing it to China, Asta La Vista Baby....Hey wait a minute, why not grab one, build a fully boxed frame, drop a hemi and rear wheel drive in it.....

I'm with you, Boss, this sux. I was really waiting for this thing as I'm looking for a little sportscar as my next new vehicle. My stepdad just repurchased the 240Z he bought brand new in '70 and it's given me the sportscar buzz. A G37 it is, I guess.

I don't mind the styling, but FWD ain't my cup o' tea. I drove the hell out of my '99 Jetta. It only had 115 hp and RWD would have made it much more fun to tear around in.

Well, as for as much as I think that a FWD car is capable, there is also a limit to what a FWD car can handle. I have an '03 Jetta that is flirting with 200whp. Nothing to write home to momma about, but it is on the edge of being able to transfer the power to the ground effectively. I've driven a VW with over 300whp, with a LSD and sticky tires, when you mash on the gas all hell breaks loose, and it is hard to control. It's fun.
