Yes I'm ****ing pissed, excuse my language, if I ever see that 18 wheeler driver of that dump again I'll tear him a new ******* - shithead refused to ****ing stop!!!!!!!!

This is why I'm pissed - sorry for URL - too many and don't have time to resize images:

Image 1 - Roof

Image 2 Roof

Image 3 - top of fin

Image 4 Full shot of visible damage to fin

Image 5 - Roof Dent

Image 6 - Another view of dent on roof - different angle and tree sap from wood that came off and hit my truck too (from that piece of roof that hit me).

An approx 4 foot by 4 foot piece of roof (apparently removed from a construction site) with a 2x4 attached on one side and built up roofing material on the other side was blown up and thrown into the air and it shifted to the drivers side of the 18 wheeler dump truck, I saw this and basically said "OH ****" and hit the gas but not soon enough and it got me, the ****ing driver refused to pull over off the freeway and kept going, I called 911 and talked to CHP but all they would do was to take all the info I could give them and then I had to go to a field office to give them my info - and at the field office they said they would do nothing, it was gonna be up to my insurance company.

You just can't win anymore.....

It seems obvious that the 18 wheeler KNEW he had caused a major problem and yes you do deserve compensation and a least a pound of his flesh - however now that it has been reported and the CHP has your statement you could end up in more **** if you give this guy what he justly deserves .

The fin and all.

Seriously sorry to hear that Neil. You don't deserve it buddy.

Sure we can't buff it out??

Silly you for thinking the police would have any interest.

Damn! I would have cut him off and slammed on the brakes let him hit me in the ***. His word against mine. Don't worry about witnesses hunt them down later.

Go back to the field office and ask them for their insurance info. They have to provide it to you and you can call them yourself. The trucking company is trying to play hardball with you.

I highly doubt that it would have done any good to try to stop a 40 to 50 thousand pound truck (with a full load) that was going 60ish MPH on the freeway with my little 5760 pound truck, I would never have lived through it.

I notified CHP mainly hoping that they'd go after the "hit and run" driver but also because I need the paperwork for my insurance claim. I know it's going to cost them 2 to 3k dollars for the repairs at least and they can go after the driver and IF he is part of a company then get the money from their insurance. There's a little 1/2 inch ding dent that went all the way to metal on my drivers door top that happened in a car wash in 2007 and the repair shops wanted a minimum of $750 to $800 to fix that so I'm assuming the minimum in what I said above - I won't know for sure until the body shop looks at it and also if there's more damage when they remove the wing, it hit the wing too so I don't know if there's any dents or scratched removed paint under where the wing sits as well as if there's any cracks in the wing - can't tell while it's bolted on and I think it's all fibreglass.

This would also have been the last thing you did, 80,000lb trucks dont just hit you in the ***, they either completely flatten your vehicle or turn it into a 60 mph projectile into oncoming traffic and stationary objects.
