Caster/camber alignment

I've got my entire front end on my 2003 2x4 hemi apart and when I bolt it together I'll take it to a shop to get it aligned. I read in the manual that caster/camber is adjusted by moving the upper A arm in the slots of the frame. In the manual it says to use a special mopar tool to move the A arm back and forth in the slots. Is this tool necessary or can it be done with a crowbar or something else?

I'm from Belgium, not a lot of trucks here and alignment shops don't really have experience with them so just trying to find out some details before I go.

It's a lot easer with the correct tool but it can be done.

How does the tool actually work? Any pictures of it in action?

I have adjustment kits installed on Red. These are non concentric lobes that can be adjusted using a wrench. They make the alignment easier but are not required.

That's basically just a giant washer with a hole drilled out of the centre? I could easily make that myself, thanks for the idea! Any chance of some rough measurements as to what diameter the washer is?

Nevermind, just found em on ebay for 50$ shipping and taxes to Belgium included, not worth the hassle making them myself for that price, so ordered a set.

Christof, oddly it measures just over 2 inches. (2.030). Notice there is a square hole punched in it for a 3/8 drive to turn it.

If I remember right 1 kit is for only one side. You will need two kits for both wheels.

Kits make it nice for sure. But not required at all If you loosen the bolts up you can push/pull the arm around fairly easily. Do it all the time at work.
