I’m gonna bleed the brake system on my 2004 5.7 Hemisport , I’m looking at using the brake pressure bleeder at work, now the vehicles at our work can only be bleed at 1.5 bar any more pressure and it can damage the ABS unit, is there a set pressure for the brake system on the rams?
You start at the brake caliper that is the furthest from the master cylinder which is the rear passenger side, then rear drivers side, move to front passenger side, finishing up with the front drivers side, which is the caliper closest to the master cylinder.
Thank you super bee, thought I would ask as VW where I work with the newer cars we start at the passenger side first ( which would be your drivers side for you )
Sorry, I should have clarified that vehicles are viewed from the rear, making the left side the referenced drivers side, and the right side the referenced passenger side of any vehicle. From the rear you would start with the right rear caliper on your truck. I would expect the right hand drive trucks shipped overseas would require starting from the left rear caliper.
No there are only a handful of right hand drive rams here in the UK,
But over here when we are describing left and right we say
Near side is UK passenger side nearest side to the kerb
And our drivers side UK would be called offside.
So I would bleed the offside rear ( rear right if stood behind the vehicle) that’s how we would say it. Little confusing some times lol 😂
This feels like a confusing loop. Assuming the brake master cylinder is on the driver's side regardless which side that may actually be.. the first brake to be bled would be the longest run most likely being the opposite rear brake. Now depending on the conversion job that was done on an original American lefthand drive vehicle it might become somewhat challenging to determine which rear brake line is the furthest from the master cylinder. Good luck...
I was born in Hastings, Sussex England. I went back to England in 1980, visited London while there, I have made stopovers there again in the late 1990's, also in the early 2000's.
I had an uncle, who moved to America, and went to work at the Maxwell House Coffee/General Foods plant in Houston, Texas. My uncle was able to secure a job for my father at the plant. We left England when I was 2 years old, sailing to America, arriving at the port of Houston, Texas. I grew up, and lived in Houston until I entered military service in 1971. I have lived in Meridian, Mississippi since February 1972. I served in the USN, then the USAF, until my retirement, July 2011, after serving in the military for 36+ years.
I have friends in Carthage TX and Arlington TX we visit often my Dad lived in Topeka KS back in the 60s, I have been lucky enough to travel most of the U.S and would have loved to have moved over there.
no it’s hard even though I have a trade I don’t qualify for it, if I had been able to join the military I could go over but unfortunately I failed the medical so was unable to join up, just hoping my numbers come up on the lotto!!! 😂
