Wheel size.

Hey all,

I was wondering, I have the stock 20" wheel on my "05". What is the smallest wheel I can go to without throwing off the speedo or recalibrating any thing? I do have a superchips 3815. Thanks.

You should be able to adjust tire size using your SuperChip.

Wheel diameter has no bearing. It's tire diameter. ANY change will throw the reading off. It might reduce the error or make it worse.

Okay, great thanks. I have one more question. I need lower ball joints replaced. I've been hunting around and found a guy that will replace the originals with Moog for $490.00 plus tax and if I want an alignment that would be extra. Does that sound right? Anyway, just thoughts or if anyone knows were I can get it done cheaper in MD, please let me know...kinda on a shoestring budget. Thanks again.

Here in Virginia that would be high. Price out the ball joints you want and a $100-120 should be labor. Wheel alignment is $65 by itself. Your labor clock should end when the alignment starts.

Do you think they would install customer supplied parts? So all I would need is the labor and the alignment. Do shops still do that?

I have known some that will use the parts that you bring. However, MOST of them prefer to order the parts themselves to ensure ordering the correct one.

The shop I go to which is a friends shop prefers me to bring my own parts so he doesn't have to brother with gathering parts and he knows I'll have what I want to install in hand and ready to go. Talk to them before hand and see if they are ok with you bringing the parts. If not then insure they are using parts that are acceptable to you.

My shop that I use, like Greg said, prefers for me to bring the parts in. This way I get what I want, and the lift isn't tied up waiting on parts to arrive.
