Question Urgent help needed

I'm in the middle of replacing the upper and lower ball joints on my 2005, 1500 4x2. I've never seen a ball joint like the factory one, where's the spring clip?? How is this removed? This has stalled my progress.
Thanks!

so the press just walks on the top of the joint, I'm guessing there a special Dodge adapter for the top the joint?

I plan to replace the upper control arm (07' QC) with a unit that has the upper ball joint already installed. The lower ball joint can be replaced without the need to replace the lower control arm. I didn't think you could get just the upper ball joint without buying the complete upper control arm.

Take a hammer and stroke the edges around where the joint is pressed in this helps trust me. Then use a large hammer and hit dead center ontop there or use the press like you have it they come out easy just looks bad. The factory set does not have a clip just a kinda swollen too ridge.

Got it!

Well I got it out. The right size cups help... Harbor Freight to the rescue. The bottom cylinder that I was using was too large and kept slipping off. I also used a 32mm socket on the top to keep the press centered and it kept wandering even with the right bottom cup. Air tools are the best!
@SuperBee, you are correct, the uppers are non serviceable and you must replace the whole arm. RockAuto seemed to have the best price for Moog.

Thanks, I plan to install nothing but Moog parts, last longer, and have a better warranty.
