Spring compressor

Looking at removing my front spring, what spring compressors are you all using?

Yours is a 2004? If so it'll be the same as my 03. I didn't use a spring compressor, but a floor jack under the lower control arm.

Yes it's 2004, I'm doing it on a four poster ramp and it's very tight to get a jack under the arm and be able to lower it down safely.

Don't do it there not very safe you need room to drop the arm down in a big swing motion. Get it on the floor or you will need a shock hole compressor and they are kinda freaky to use anyway

Yeah, I've done mine several times. But always on the floor. If your four poster has a axle jack that slides back and forth you might be able to raise the chassis using it and then and with a block under the lower control arm lower the chassis back down loading the spring tension onto the block.. once the spindle is loose then rise the chassis back up unloading the spring.

It can be done it's just a ton safer on the ground or a two post lift set low and use a jack to drop it down.

Get some good measurements from the fender lip to a point on the hub. This way you can check for the front sitting level. Back in the beginning when I first took the original springs out, the springs had different numbers on them. It took a couple tries to get it where I wanted it to be using drop spindles and trimmed springs. Goodles luck..
