Replacing fron shocks

Hey guys, I have a question regarding the front shocks. I'm going to be replacing them as soon as the weather breaks, and I've been looking at online videos on how to do it, etc, it seems pretty straightfoward, except all the videos I've seen show trucks with a coil over suspension, whereas mine has torsion bars. is it more or less difficult to do on one vs. the other, or are they more or less the same?

Welcome to the forum. I'm not familiar with torsion bar suspension but it is probably pretty much the same as others. I would take a look and maybe shoot some penetrating oil on the fasteners. Typically not a difficult job. Take some pictures. Truck year and model is always helpful.

Shocks are easy on the torsion bars, there is one bolt on the bottom that’s easy to reach, and the top nut. The top one can be difficult because it’s normally rusted and it’s hard to grab ahold of.

You will like them John . Combined with a good rear sway bar (Helwig, etc.) it will corner flat pushing your tires to there limits and feel like it is on rails...

Too bad you slide outta the driver seat before that happens tho...

I've got the Belltech rear sway bar, Bilstein 5100s made for the 2/4 drop at each corner and 305/50s. It corners great but I can't stay in my seat very well!

Bilsteins installed this morning, all 4 corners. I am running a set of Keiths long bars on the rear end, so I am not sure if a rear anti sway bar will work. I was looking at a Helwig on Amazon that looks like it might fit. I ran one of those when I had my 1988 GMC pickup, that I lowered 4 inches front and back. That truck would hold the road better than the 1975 Corvette I once owned.

I'm running the oversize Helwig with the Bilsteins...but no bars...you will probably be just fine with your setup .
