Questions regarding my 2004 dodge ram

Hey Guys,

So I've been noticing a couple of things with my truck recently that make me wonder whats wrong with it. First when I first start driving in the mornings and I'm going from about 15-25 mph i feel like the truck pulls back then it continues to accelerate and from then on the truck is fine. Its not a big pull but I notice it and it mostly only happens when the truck has been sitting for a couple of hours. Second, Ive been noticing that motor oil has been disappearing from the truck. Last oil change it was down about 2 quarts and today i checked the oil and the dipstick read about an inch down from where its should be. I haven't noticed any smell but the motor cap does have a chocolatey color. So where is the oil going? Third, I wanna change the gear oil but i don't remember how much to get. I have the Mag-Hytec cover with 4.56 gears and last time I changed it I bought royal Purple 75w-90. I want to know what gear oil would be better and if I would need the additive in it. Sorry for all the questions guys.

If its burning it you would likely see smoke out the pipe

Also check your coolant and see if oil is possibly mixing

Stock rear end cover your looking at about 2 1/2 qts. I believe the Mag Hytec increase's capacity. (you may want to look up how much) Some rear gear oil's say they don't require the addative. I use Amsol and i added the additive anyway.

What differential are you using? Some don't require additives. I would replace the PVC valve and check the spark plugs to see how they look.

My truck was using a quart of oil since new. At about 50,000 it was up 2 quarts every oil change. No leaks and no smoke . I noticed more usage when I switched to mobil one synthetic.

How many miles do you have on your truck?

The DDT doesn't use modifier. It uses gears instead of clutches.

As much as I hate to say it....... Most V8 engines do burn a little oil with that many miles.

When was the last time the throttle body was taken off and cleaned?
