No start.

I went out to my truck, which had been sitting in the yard for two days, and she wouldn't start, the starter didn't operate. Today I checked for any codes, there were two, 1st one, I forgot to clear when I replaced the oil pressure sensor, the 2nd one was low battery voltage. I checked the battery, it had 8.7 volts.
I have owned my 2007 for almost 4 years, I don't know how long the battery has been in the truck. I bought a new 850 CCA premium battery from Advance Auto for $145.23. I will be installing the battery tomorrow, after a PGR mission, hoping this is her only problem.

Sounds like it was time for a new one.

8.7 volts....I'm thinking that should be the only issue is the battery is dead.

For sitting parked for two days one night, I would expect a battery voltage between 12.0 to 12.5 volts, not down to 8.7. I have no way of knowing when this battery was first installed. Even if it was installed new just before I purchased my truck, I think 4 years is good for a modern battery.

Installed a new 850 CCA battery and all is back to normal. Well not completely normal. As I was letting the battery charge, once the engine reached normal operating temp while idling, I discovered a coolant leak. I was lucky, as all it needed was tightening of a clamp on the upper radiator hose. Now all is good.

I don't know if this is only my imagination, but my truck ran really good before the battery died. I test drove it yesterday after installing the new battery, and there seems to be more power, I was really surprised. Main thing is she is running great.

Often an occasional reboot will improve drivability.
