Hemi ticking... Annoying

Hello guys, I have posted before about my cold start tick...

Here is the old post

http://www.hemitruckclub.com/forums/f145/cold-start-tick-15702.html

Since then I have been paying more attention and learned more...

It's not just at cold temps.. It's always ticking but it's louder on cold start. When it reaches a coolant temp of about 185 degrees it's no longer noticeable standing by it... However at drive through I can hear it a little and if I crawl under the truck and listen I can hear it much quoted when it's warm but still there....

I just don't get it. Almost 4k miles since I have noticed and been trucking it probably been there longer. No change in noise or anything during that time and those are mostly highway miles driving 80-85 for a few hours...

Does sound like the Hemi-tick. There's a pitch in there that could be an exhaust leak. The leaks I've heard had a higher pitch, and they usually subside once it's warmed up, IIRC. My 300C ticks louder than my Ram. Could also be an injector, but it seems too strong for that. Someone will jump in soon.

My thoughts were exhaust leak too being it gets quiter.. Although now I've found it doesn't go away completely when warm.. I just had my exhaust manifold bolts replaced by a mechanic.. I first noticed this loud cold start tick after that was done...

Maybe the new gaskets made the tick louder and more noticeable....
