Front Wheel hub/bearing replacement

Hey guys. so, the fron wheel bearing is grinding. Needs to be replaced. Just bought a new one. My question is, Is there a way to remove the bearing without removing the axle? It's such a PITA getting that damn axle in and out. Or, is there an easier way to remove the axle? I'll be doing this in the parking lot, on jackstands. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you have a 4wd. Mine is 2wd so I didn't have to deal with the front axles. Sorry I can't be of more help!

Leave the axle in the truck. You will need to remove the big axle nut first then the caliper and bracket as a whole hang it out of the way. Then dissconnect the speed sensor wire. After that if it’s 4x4 1500 should be 3 15mm bolts or if it’s 2500 4x4 there is 4 15 or 18 mm nuts. Then a little bit of hammer persuasion and it’s out.

JUst did mine and this is how i did it. You may need to push in on the axle a bit for clearance.
