Found my paint guy!

I had a body /paint guy that does exceptional work and lost him when my phone crashed. He now has his old shop back open so I'm hoping to get a hood and custom gas door done shortly. This may not seem like a big deal to most of you. But I have a really hard time finding folks that have the level of skills I demand and to put up with me. To say I'm a bit anal would be a understatement.

I feel your pain. It is hard for me also to just trust a shop with my vehicles. I just can't stand being charged for some tech trainee to learn how to diagnose while charging me $85.00 per hr. Then charge me for a butch of parts that were not the problem. Because they don't understand diagnostic steps. So, when I find someone that's good I stick with them, and spread the word.

I hear yah there glad I can do the tech side of things myself as for paint I have a tattoo artist that does painting also (hence the flames) and brings to a booth to bake afterwards he's the only one I trust body wise around here

Although we are going to use a diff person to fix the car bumper Becca smashed the other night. Goes in Monday morning get back Tuesday night for $250 not bad concidering dealer wanted $988 (crazy)

Yep, I do most everything myself, but sometimes I need little support and I very much interview the shop before pulling the truck in. And I have pulled the truck out of a couple over the years when I didn't like the way things were going. I'm a PIA and will not let the truck out of my site.
As for the hood, I'm really liking this one.
Reflexxion Automotive 702800 - Reflexxion Steel Cowl Induction Hood for 02-08 Dodge Ram - SuperTruck Essentials
I want to also redo my stock gas door making it totally smoothe with a tight fit.

Cool

WOW, that hood looks good but I can't believe it cost $199.99 to ship, must be coming from Hawaii or some foreign country.

i personally agree and understand, but i am extremely lucky that i have a long time friend that has been doing the body work painting thing since he was big enough to hold a spray gun. and when the truck was damaged back in 09 he was my only choice, and since i wanted to go ahead and 'freshin' up the paint job, he was more then happy to do so. one week. and she was shinny new top to bottom bumper to bummper, well after he re installed the bumpers and glass and and and . damn. he had the truck stripped in less then three hours ! !
good luck to you and the hood will look nice.

we sure do miss this truck

I hear you, I keep my vehicles for long time and seldom trade. I like knowing what I'm driving.
