BV Heads?

Who has the best/affordable BV heads for a 5.7? I can get a pair of heads done at my local performance shop for around $1500. What's a good price to pay for what is generally described as Stage II heads? I have a Track PPP cam I want to install, but really need to do heads first.
Thanks,

I would say around 2200+ easy for big valve heads and porting from a site likely a core charge too

Appreciate the input. The price from my local shop is for reworking my heads. The prices from say Inertia or PPP would have a core charge added to it. I'm leaning toward PPP as it's their cam I want to use and should be a good package. But the job of street performance heads is to be reliable and still flow. Racing heads are all about performance and I want a balance of performance and some durability. I just don't know who's best for what I'm looking for..

Thanks,

I don't think you'll notice a diff much either way street wise it's the dyno that would Deff show a diff

The little I know about heads is mostly around the valve angles. The race valve usually has a thinner seating area which flows better but doesn't transfer heat as well as a wider seat area. Narrow seats wear faster than standard seats. I don't intend on running really high spring pressures with an advertised lift of .575. I just don't know which supplier has defined the compromises needed to have high flow and durability from the same head. After all it is a bit of black art. Stu from Inertia did get back to me this morning which is encouraging.

You could just port the heads and put stock sized Manley
Pro Flow valves in. Have the heads milled a little.

I agree. I also have heard the 6.1 intake valve with stock exhaust makes a good 5.7 combo. Maybe with PPP valve springs along with a little porting and a .030 mill would get it done. My local motor shop is doing more hemi's now so I'll probably stop and talk with the owner.

The intake side is good it's the exhaust side that needs the work. I got so excited I had mine back that I didn't port them before installing them. A simple larger valve setup with a decent amount of exhaust porting will be a nice diff.

Good to hear, I really need to talk with my shop as that would by my guess the best bang for the dollar. These guys build very serious engines.
