Bed Replacement

The rust has finally appeared on my bedside after 10 years. It seems more cost effective to replace the whole bed. That is, if I purchase a bed from down south. I was planning on linexing the entire underneath before I have it painted and install it. Any advice hear would be appreciated. Has anyone else done this ?

This might be a stupid question, but will a 4th gen (2009) bed fit on a 2008?

I see southern beds for sale all the time on Craigslist. They normally run between $800-$1200

Most of the ones that I have found are $1400-$1800 and need a lot of work. I will just have to be patient. Has anyone line-X or Rhino lined the bottom of a bed before? I want to do everything I can to stop the rust from happening again.

A well done job would certainly help prevent rust. Most if not all of mine is sprayed with rubberized frame paint and the fender wells are sprayed flex-seal coating to water proof them. I did a lot of welding on mine and didn't want any rust popping up.
