shsu i got a question..

He Shsu.. I have a Moose, Im lookin for some great all-weather tires. 265 70 17. Has to be Load Range E as I am pulling a fifth wheel. Have any suggestions on a tire? I love the 420s but they dont come in a 17 and I suspect they arent load range e. Anyway. Thanks

shsu i got a question..

Here are the only LT265/70R17 Load E tires I was able to find. I am sure I missed some but I went through every tire mfg from BF Goodrich to cheap no name brands like Sigma. I hit every major mfg there is. I won't list M&S tires or tires designed for strictly off road use. More A/T style for the road and snow.

Cooper Discoverer ATR - http://www.coopertire.com/us/en/Prod...LtTruck&id=257

Cooper Discoverer H/T - http://www.coopertire.com/us/en/Prod...=LtTruck&id=22

Cooper Discoverer S/T( Snow Tire Tread Design ) - http://www.coopertire.com/us/en/Prod...LtTruck&id=190

BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A - http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/asset...d_trail_ta.pdf

Michelin LTX A/S - http://www.michelinman.com/catalog/t...re=0&source=ta

Pirelli Scorpion STR( Highway Tread - this tire is listed as a Load E according to one of the online tire sites I found it on but I couldn't confirm that on Pirelli's web site? ) - http://www.us.pirelli.com/en_US/tyre...productid=7377

Dunlop Radial Rover RVXT - http://www.dunloptire.com/dunlop/dis...ea=Light+Truck

Not a lot of them that I could find. Tons of P series tires obviously in that size. Just a note. There are quite a few P series tires that can carry quite a bit of weight. Many are rated to carry more weight than the LT E series tires listed above. I know the Load E LT tires are a 10 ply tire and more rugged but if it is just a weight issue for you maybe some of the P series would work? Others will know more about that than I will.

For what this is worth I hope it helps you out.

Oh, by the way, I did not bother to list Goodyear tires here. They do offer LT tires in Load E but Goodyears bite and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. If you like GY's than they offer what you need in the Wrangler series.

NHHemi, you have been a big help. Nah, I dont want Wranglers. The Load E issue is more because of the sidewall protection. Even though P might carry more weight, with towing the sidewall becomes more important to me because heat can damge alot around here. Dman blacktop during the summer when pulling a 7000 pound trailer puts a lot of strain on the tires.
