Hauling a Slide in Camper

How many other members carry a slide in camper?
Are you happy with the way the truck handles the load? I carry a 8 1/2 ft. camper,3000#, and tow a 3300# boat and am very happy with the way the truck preforms.Thank god for 4:10 gears

Sorry, no input yet. But I do appreciate your positive review. I'm trying to convince the wife to trade in the Class "C" motorhome for an Eagle Cap 850 camper. She doesn't want to give up the space, but I can't get the #$%& thing down to some of my favorite fishing/camping spots.
BTW, welcome to the Club!

I have a alpinlite cimmeron 850 that puts me about 250# overweight but with the mods I have done to the truck, no problem. We can go almost anywhere 4 wheel drive can take us. Plenty of room for the wife, dog, and me. Queensize bed,ice cold beer and a crapper. What more do you need!

Ditto. 8/12# camper would be very cramped. Any bigger camper would overload the truck quite a bit

I loved my camper as a kid, never needed more. But when you marry and he wife says (plus one kid, a beagle, and another child on the way) no camper, but a trailer would be nice, you do it.. That damn pocket book is tight to get a hold of!
