Well got a buddy that has this 27' boat trailer twin axle. He wanted to make it a flat deck utility trailer. He spent $200 on it. I told him I would do the work of he changed the axles to dual 5k and let me dive tail it so I could use it to haul the truck. He said yes so here is what I have started. I notch cut the frame 3/4" to drop the tail 6".

Next is to box in that v nose section up front. I will not be cutting the steel just adding to the sides and adding cross beacing there also for strength. After that a will be adding a sistered piece of c channel under the tongue as its a single beam style about 8' long with 5' not braced. This will give me the piece of mind that I want for strength there. After that I will be removing the slide tongue hitch and adding a cattle trailer style hitch 20k max load. I've used mine to rescue vehicles including Red a few times and with that and the piece of mind it provides it has paid for itself. When I was fabricating pieces for the tank install I used the trailer to carry Red to the shop. There are tons of uses for it for sure......
