I have a similar question on another thread but want some additional thoughts, specifically on tires and their effect on towing.. so here goes...
I have a 2017 Ram 2500 SLT 5.7 Hemi 3.73 gears. We are going to be towing approx 9000lbs(maybe a hair less) total with cargo and all to NY via I-81 this Summer. I used to own a RAM 1500 5.7 with 3.92 gears and would tow approx 6500 pounds this distance. The main difference now is my camper weights a little more than 2500 lbs more, and on my 1500 i had 20" tires, now i have 18 " tires on the 2500... also the tranns goes from 3.92 to 3.73 on the 2500.
Question of the day; What might i expect this time around given these new specs/changes? on this trip? Thoughts??
By the way, I love this blog, best thing ever, thanks for all of the advice!!!
