A cam that worked great for me (12.87) was a PPP 6.1 Track cam. 218/223. The jeep folks did well using it and I thought I try it. The springs will need to accommodate the lift.

What power band does that do? Torque? High hp? I'm looking for more of a nice daily driver cam, something that will help my low end get up and go.

I'd call it a mid range cam, but with short tires, 4:10 gear and 2800 stall it was strong out of the hole.

Well I guess I should say what I'm trying to accomplish. The stuff I have left to do would be efan install, cam swap, springs and pushrods, and I'm deciding if I want to get a torque converter. I'll be sticking with my 33" tires and 3.92 gears, not planning on changing those. I'd love it if I could get some lope in the sound, but that's just a fringe benifit since I don't want to run a crazy cam yet

My truck has a 260, longtubes, 4.56s on a sc canned tune. It was pretty strong with a aftermarket converter in it. Had a 2600 an a 3200. [email protected] was its best an I believe it had quite a bit more(think I could of hit 13.2x)2 things I noticed was the truck was much stronger with a higher flash converter in it an much more fun to drive.... but as soon as I ran a converter I was having trans problems. I know it's mostly driving habit but after 2 times in less than a yr of replacing 545s my wallet an back couldn't take it.

Now just shy of 2 yrs later an the same junkyard trans. It has crossed my mind haha

I dont want to blow my 545, I don't want to deal with trans problems. But I'm afraid it's only a matter of time at this point lol. So is a converter a bad idea then?

My opinion having a vehicle with a 545 is a bad idea lol but seriously it's all in the way you drive it.

Agreed, a 545 is pretty strong if driven as a three speed.
