I'm a old retired Navy Chief and I'm disgusted. This is something that hasn't been mentioned but I believe will be soon. I recently spoke with a Republican Party Representation in hope someone will look into the Tricare ExpressScript program. For those who don't know this program it is the Tricare's home delivery for medicines. It is cheap and often free to the recipient. The problem is ExpressScript is a contractor who's mandate appears to be to substitute your doctors prescription for a cheap generic drug. On the surface this may sound like a good idea to save Tricare money, but what I believe is that ExpressScript is charging Tricare full cost for the drugs and pocketing the difference as profit. In the mean time you are NOT receiving the medicine your doctor prescribed and if you don't do three month checkups you may well go for an extended period of time not being properly medicated. ExpressScript will block and deny the filling of a prescribed medicine using every effort they can. I have followed their instructions and filled out forms, including having my doctor involved in communicating with them and still denied. The last round I had with them, they specifically told me that Tricare denied the refill which is not true as I can and have gone to the local pharmacy and have no problem filling the prescription using Tricare. IMO, ExpressScript is dangerous and is not providing the drugs that have been prescribed by the individual's doctor. This is my personal view and I'm interested to hear from other Vets that are on the forum that are probably using ExpressScript.
Thanks,
