Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. In 2013 I started to work as a "table representative" for a veterans charity. The charity is a 501(c)(3) organization. A table rep. as they are called are the folks that sit in front of a store and ask for donations for their cause. I am sure you have run into them a time or two. Anyway, I did this off and on for about a year and a half while I was also working as day labor for another company just to make my insurance payment. then in late 2014 I started to work for the charity as an office manager. Managing the volunteer phone reps. (which were people doing community service) and setting up appointments for the table reps. This all ended in January of this year (2015) when the landlord told us we had to get out because the President of the charity had defaulted on the agreed upon rent of $1,000 a month for the past 8-9 months. Fast forward to last week. I had applied for a position with a well established company and I am in the process of the background investigation when low and behold I get a call from the HR lady saying that this charity refused to co-operate with the background investigation and that she needed w-2's or old pay stubs to prove that I was "employed" at this charity. I only received a couple of pay checks written on Wells Fargo checks, a few were written on the charities checks. I didn't think much of it then, but now that a very lucrative position is hanging in the balance is there anything that I can do? I faxed the HR lady all the pay stubs that I could find covering the dates of employment that she was looking for, but of course she called late on Friday and she will be busy all day Monday. I do have an appointment for a whizz quiz on Tuesday at 11a.m. She asked for employment pay stubs for years 13-14 and 15. The pay stub has my start date printed on it when I started in Dec. 2013, the checks are dated in 2014 and I have my last pay stub dated in 2015. I am just very upset and I guess I need a third party opinion. Me personally I think that I've already lost the job before I even got it. Sorry to :cry2:, but I really need this job but, most importantly your opinions.
Thanks for your input and sorry to be such a cry baby.
