…of work? Your chosen career if you will. If you’re “retired” now, what was it before you hit the links everyday?

My chosen career is Architectural Drafting/Designing. After finishing a tech school in 1977 I set out and worked with a few “now we’re busy, now we’re not” architects. I’ve done everything from multi-million dollar homes, single family homes, additions, detached garages, restaurants (Black Angus, Stewart Anderson, Taco Bell, Famous Amos, etc.), shopping centers, hotels, apartments, condos, mini-storages and countless tenant improvements. In 1987, I decided to go into business for myself and I haven’t looked back since. I enjoy my business and my career!

Yes! I know! We’re all in the same boat with this economy. I just think it would be interesting topic (that's has been done to death here).

Computer Lab Technician. I retired from the Herff College of Engineering at The University of Memphis. I was there for 20 years and at State Technical Institute At Memphis for 8 years before that. The State of Tennessee allowed my Army time towards retirement, so at age 53 I retired with 30 years in the system.

We don't have enough band width for me to get started... After the Navy I went to the defense plant...building F-111's. Had been a volunteer firefighter during school and after I got out so that's where I ended up. Working 24 on and 48 off I tried lots of things. Driving trucks, building homes, but my most job fun was a fishing guide. Did that part time for 13 years. When I wasn't at the fire station I did a lot of fishing. Finally went into investigations in the fire service and ended up going to the police academy. Did that for another 11 years before retiring.
Then became a PI for a company that handled mostly Insurance fraud and arson cases for big Insurance Companies. Had the background for both so why not. Also moved back to the country after retirement and started raising cattle. Best of both worlds....for a while. Tore up a shoulder and had to "retire" again. Drought killed me from the cattle business in 2007. So now I do what I want...that I can afford. No regrets really. Life has been good.
Like the song says, "God is great, beer is good and people are crazy."
Don't you wish you hadn't ask.

I worked my way through college as a waitress and a secretary. Worked my way through nursing school as a house parent for mentally retarded women. Was a psych nurse (no, that is not where I met Morris) for 15 years, then for the last ten been a casemanager at our local hospital.
