What Does Your Forum Name Mean??

I've seen a lot of names on the forum and can't figure out what some of them mean. I decided I'd start this thread so we can share the meaning of our names. Some are obvious, others are cryptic. I'll start.

440Sixpak: I'm betting most of you know what it refers to. Back in the late 60s and early 70s, Chrysler had a RB engine (big-block) that was 440 cubes. There were a few different versions, but the nicest one came with three two-barrel carbs ("SixPack" for Dodge and "6BBL" for Plymouth)). One of the features that made them easy to tune was the fact that the carbs weren't linked mechanically like TriPower and the like. They used vacuum to open up the secondaries. Anyone familiar with these engines knows that a well-tuned 440 6bbl will run circles around a 426 street Hemi. Although I love anything with the Elephant motor, I'm kinda partial to the 440...hence my forum name.

What's yours mean???

ROLLING THUNDER is simply a description of my truck. When the hemi talks through the Flowmaster it sounds like thunder.

What Does Your Forum Name Mean??

In World War I during the 1918 Ch√Ęteau-Thierry campaign near the French village of Bouresches, United States Marines assaulted a line of German machine-gun nests on an old hunting preserve known as Belleau Wood. The fighting was fierce. Those Marines who weren't cut down by the enemy guns captured the nests in a grisly close-quarters battle. The shocked Germans nicknamed their foes "TeufelHunden" which translates into "DevilDog". Involved in this campaign were members of the 5th and 6th Marine Regiments.

At the end of WWI, the French government awarded many units of the U.S. military with specific awards which included variations of the Fourragere and the Croix de Guerre. The 5th and 6th Marine Regiments were awawrded the French Fourragere.

Since then, any Marine who has ever served with the 5th or 6th Marine Regiments is issued a French Fourragere to wear on their dress uniform, but only worn while they are serving in those units. The Marines are however allowed to keep and display their Fourragere for the rest of their life.

Below is a poster that was used by Marine Recruiters after 1918, and a picture of the French Fourragere.

So, Hemi-Pup is a my variation of Devil Dog.

Because you asked!

What I use to think I was.
Since the drought put me out of business a few years back I should change it but no one would know who I was. Come to think of it that might not be a bad idea either.
