I envy all of you who live in states or places that do not require them, unfortunately for us here in most of Calif they're required every 2 yrs after the vehicle reaches 5 yrs of age.

Well, went and had my first one done this morning and yes I set the truck back to stock with my Superchips and I remembered to put the stock air cleaner setup back in the truck - my CAI does not have a CARB number, BUT! My main worry was my headers - mid length with no CARB number too although Pace Setter says they're legal in all 50 states.

The guy was pretty good, looked around the engine compartment and I managed to side track him before he could look down at the headers, and intermediate talking to him made him forget I guess. He went ahead and did the smog test and Yea I passed but with really surprising numbers though.. copy of test results below:

In the test area, the max allowed is printed and it was the answers that were listed in the MEAS (Measured) boxes that surprised me!

Ah, the dreaded smog nazi's. They're much despised in the modified vehicle groups.

Don't have to put up with that BS now. When I lived in Memphis I had to get that done every year. All cars have to be inspected there and the whole thing is a PITA! The city does it and their inspection stations always have long lines waiting while everyone's motors heat up along with driver's tempers.

passed cleaner than mine did but mine was also holding a gear longer because of my shift programming and had the rpm near the upper limit. my 15mph test was at 2300rpm. lol
