I'm looking hard at an 06 300 SRT with 23k mi.and noticed some of you guys have or had an SRT,and am wondering what to look for as far as problem areas with these vehicles.I asked the same question on the SRT Forum and suprisingly got no answer.Any info would be appreciated.Thanks,Joe.

I had a SRT-8 Grand Cherokee... no issues at all (except for crappy mpg).

I would think if anything - check the tranny and rear end for signs of leakage.

Overall, they're build strong and can take abuse.

Thanks Mark.I've crawled as far underneath as I could, from front to back and it looks brand new.Garage kept for sure.Been on the lot for 2 mo.and they want $24k.I thought $18k would be good for a counter.Theres a gas station within eyesite of the dealership I can point to!

Per Kelly Blue Book, that car (in excellent shape) is worth $23,778. Doubt they'd go as low as $18K, but if you could get it between $20K and $21K I'd say you would be getting a great deal!

Thats kinda what I hope for also. They got a "bidding" system I can can do over the internet.I just thought I'd throw the $18k out there even before I talk to em.

I've had a 09 SRT Challenger and now 2011 SRT Challenger. Although the 6.4 is a lot faster the 6.1 was a lot of fun too and don't think you will be disapointed.
I've attended the track experience you get when you purchase the car. The guys running it said the only thing they do is change brakes and those cars are beat on hard everyday for a year so they are built very well. If it looks good and drives/sounds good get it and have fun!

The only negative as far as I know is the 12 to 16 mpg.

Wish I could afford to drive one.

Stancab...have you track tested both of your cars? I am just curious. It seems that every article i read on these they talk about how much more powerful the 392 is, which I would imagine it is based on the numbers, but the 1/4 mi times seem to be the same. There were guys running 13.0/13.1 in their 6.1's and that is what they are quoting the 6.4 at. Seems like that car would be more like 12.6/12.7. By the way, I AM jealous....lol. Just wanted to pick someones brain about that that has had them both.
