I'm sure I've missed a lot this week. If I didn't respond to a question let me know and I'll do my best. I'll be trying to catch up next week on all the threads. Contractors have been here all week and one left at 9:45PM this evening. A few more days and what's left will be up to me.
Looks like I'll be trying my hand a sheet-rocking, tape and bedding next week.

That would be a NO!!!

Sorry Brett.....had a small leak in one of the last rains. Second time over the years and only happened with a strong north wind and heavy rain. What made it more difficult for me was I couldn't find anything wrong. Had my adjusted come out and tell me that he say no apparent damage either, but if I had a contractor rip things off and there was a covered problem to let him know.
When I had the house built almost 20 years ago within a month of completion I had everything that wasn't brick covered with vinyl siding. That meant that you couldn't seen anything. The problem area was where one of the roof lines changed, an area where a wall and roof meet.
Well after tearing off the vinyl siding, shingles, roof decking and some wood siding we found some pretty good damage. Rotted wood in a few places. No damage that insurance would cover.. Wind blown rain is not covered on most insurance policies. Don't know how that differs from a hurricane wind/rain but we "are" going to have that conversation.
My adjuster did put me in touch with a contractor that he has worked with in the past. For once I got a good referral. Good company and a good crew. I have complete confidence that this issue wont come back.
On top of that we had signed a contract to have some work done in the master bath. Turn a big garden tub area in to a big shower and do away with our small shower. Ran into some issues with the plumbing....I hate plumping. ..and my original builder.
Anyway we now have that construction to deal with and due to a change in plans I will have even more work to do when they finish. Sheetrock the new closet, build out walls to install a closet door, run some new wiring for lighting. I would rather build from scratch than remodel. I've never seen a plumb or straight wall. Plus I get to patch and repair a lot of cracks in the walls from last years drought. The paint everything.....
Houses in Texas move around a lot.

When I finish that is still have about 30 dead trees to cut down.

Now that you heard all the BS that's going on, who is going to be the first to ask if I want some cheese to go along with my whine.

Thanks!! Another straw to the camel is that this is our anniversary week end. Forty-one years Sunday. We wanted to go out to dinner tonight but since the crew is still here working it may be a late dinner. Doesn't look like they will finish before sometime tomorrow. To top it all off we were using the shower in the guest bedroom until ours is finished. Guess what broke this morning? The f%^#% shower knob.
My list for Lowe's just keeps growing.
