We took a 7 day cruise a couple of years ago. Never again!! To long between ports and unless you want to loose your shirt in the casinos there wasn't that much to do for old folks. Shows were alright.

Now here I thought those cruise were gears toward the elderly. When they got closer to the lighthouse just a few hundred feet further down all I could see was flashes going off very snap happy bunch on that one.

Once you're on board and unpacked it's a great way to relax and meet people! We been on three so far. The first was a short three day cruise to Mexico, followed by another to the Western Caribbean & our last was the Mexican Rivera. True! The so called "Ship's Casino" is something you want to stay away from. The meals are great, entertainment fair and the ports excursions are interesting if you decide to do one. I once was told the upper deck was reserved for au-la-natural sunbathing. Yes, I confirmed it on our Caribbean cruise. Woo-Hoo! For the most part, it's very relaxing to grab a chaise lounge chair and wile away the hours with your better half. The sunsets are incredible and the mid-night deck strolls cap a great day on the ocean.

The wife and I are planning our next one for Alaska. Something different and we always wanted to see the glaciers. Almost certain there won't be any sunbathing...

BTW the term "Floating virus barge" is very true during the off season. Special precautions are required.
