Just thought I would share as it isn't always easy living overseas.
For the last few days been hunting around for a turkey. None to be found. First I was looking for a specific size, but I immediately found that there weren't any available regardless of size. Hmm I could go to the VFW and eat there, but I like to spend Thanksgiving at home. I'm going to check around again today, there is no rhyme or reason to how or when the major store stocks anything. But believe me I'll find a good rack of ribs or maybe a big a$$ chicken. It's all good....

I guess since all US bases closed there isn't a place that caters to Americans.

Yes, all the bases are closed, actually Americans are becoming a bit of a minority among the other foreigners. Last year there were turkeys available, but this year nothing. The main store in the area which is something like a under budget Walmart had a fire a few months back on the upper floor. I was told the insurance was about to expire, and with a pending sale and too much old inventory something had to be done. The management probably took the payout and the store is in a free fall. I'll shop the open markets but the wife hates them. Often it is easier being a foreigner as there is no offense when you say no to something. The wife is expected to buy anything thrown her way, it's complicated. Anyway enough complaining, time to fire up the bike and go find some entertainment. Life is good...
