need advice on tires again ( sorry)

OK I have another problem. This is getting so far stupid makes wanting to get rid of this thing. All I want to do is get tires for it. So I take it to Dobbs tire ( sale going on ) I want to go bigger Now my 04 had 305/55/20 on it with NO problems I did have a leveling kit on it 2"
I asked them what is the biggest size I can go with on the 2011 (No kit STOCK) they say I cant go bigger??????
I read a lot of guys say no problems if you go with 33" Isn't a 305 a 33? some say that a bigger tire will rub the ball joint?
Took it to Big G tire and I get that they wont put a bigger tires on a dodge unless it has a lift kit??
All I ever get is the run around
Does anybody know for shure what it the biggest tire that will fit. I know im going to level it but cant do both at this time and I need tires first
THANK YOU GUYS

What are your OEM rim widths? I could not go with the 305/55/20 on my 2014 Express because the OEM rims are 8.5 inch and not 9 inch.

Pulled the trigger on 22 inch RT wheels and put on with 305/45/22 tires with no clearance/rubbing issues at all. I also have 2 inch drop springs in back for the level.

305/45/22 & 275/60/20 are very close at 33"
I'm using SRT 22" x 10" Wheels with no lift and no problems on an '05.

305 is the tire width, not the overall height. If someone can't give you a good answer here, Ram Forum is full of tire help. Most of the conversations there are about tires fitting and rim selection. They even have some stickied threads of tire sizes that fit and any issues, and alot of info on 4th gens as well

305 is the widest you can go on stock wheels.a 35" tire will fit without any sort of level, its not the height its the width thats the issue.not sure what kind of tire you are after but if you want bigger(higher) a 275/65 20 is 34" high, 285/295 65 20's are 35" high.0mm offset wheels will get you up to 12.5 wide no issue and -12 for 13.5 wide.been through it all, my last truck has jacked to hell and i tried a few combos.nothing suspension/brake/wheel wise i havent had off a 4th gen.

What I find these days is most places will not stray from OEM installs.
Liability issues abound.

There are ways around it of course.

Exactly.

Don't know if you have Discount Tire in your area, but they have no issues doing a Plus zero for your tire selection as long as the new tire fits your rim. They will even mount the new tire and check the clearance for you.

those at3 tires come in a 295/60/20...almost as wide as you got but about an inch taller, bigger tire no rub issues...and the balljoint/upper control arm is the the spot it will usually hit first.
