lighting bolt of light

Has anybody seen or heard of this before?? I went out this morning and started the truck and their was a BRIGHT bolt of light on the bottom of the tack under the millage. I quickly shut it off and restarted it and the light is not as bright but still their. Any help please.

is the gauge cluster separating? like the backlight is shining through a crack? turn the headlights on and dim the dash and see if it gets dimmer too.

Haven't had time to take it apart. Will try and do it this weekend. I did try and do the dim to the dash and its still doing it.
