I have a 03 RAM 2500 4x4, with a HEMI of course. I tow a 7500 camper and would like to improve my towing capability. Therefore, I am interested in gains in torque, more so than horsepower. Anyone have any suggestions for me?
BTW, it is bone stock at the moment. I have purchased a cold air intake and a DiabloSport Pedator tuner, but haven't put them on yet. (hopefully will this weekend) Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well, you can't actually change your towing capacity. Smaller tires will help. Shorter gears will as well, but $2K will bite a serious hole in your wallet.

As mentioned the most impressive mod for towing would be the install of 4:56 gears. And to answer your next question, No they won't kill your MPG and it will feel like the truck is a 1000 lbs lighter.
Good luck.

Thanks guys. Yep, I have no doubt that 4.56 gears will give me the biggest bang for the buck...er ahh...1500-1700 bucks according to the local 4x4 shop I checked with. Not sure that's in my budget this year...maybe next year. In the meantime, will probably do a few minor engine mods.
