Finished All My Dash Work . . . .

I wired it so it only starts with the button - just to give the chimps at the dealership a mental workout when I go in for service - you can wire it either way you choose. I would assume the computer will still not engage the starter while the engine is running because not much has really change and you still use the factory set up - you just tap into it - - - I am correct - I just ran outside & tried it - pushed the button several times while the engine was running and no starter grind.

That sure is a nice set-up. One question, with just the push button start button, isnt it easier to steal your truck? Have you added any theft protection? Just curious.

I was wondering about the button also - if you still need the key I will just push in my lighter and pretend - If i was to try and wire a starter button in I am sure I would melt the whole dash and me not like that idea

Did any one ever have the Karr Guard Idenity series in there trucks - the dealer through it in for me but I had nothing but problems with it - for those who dont know aout it - it is a little key fob you carry with you ( or put in your viser and tap it when you need to start the truck ) it has to be pushed to start the motor - long story short - could not leave in truck in the cold and just a pain - any one else ????

You still need the key to start the truck - the wiring is very easy - you put the key in, turn to the "run" or "on" position and press the button - it's really a little goffy - but cool at the same time - my wife thinks I'm an idiot - womens just don't get it - lol
