finally back home

Hi yall. It been a little over a month but finally back home. Had to go up north a little ways and drill for some oil. Now I'm back and hope to stay home for awhile. The gf and my son are glad that is for sure.

Welcome home! You'll notice a few changes around here. Hope you adjust better than some of us.

On I think I'll manage with the changes, y'all did em right before I left. Yeah it sucks being gone but it all works out in the end. Boss said today that we will be drilling closer to home so it won't be so bad. I'll at least get to sleep in my own bed know that. Where were you based out of for all them years? And how did your family deal with it?

It's tough being gone all the time. During the military years it was about 50/50 with deployments and after retirement it got worse. I worked all over the world and never could get anyone to bring a ship to me. But to answer your real question as you already know it is all about how strong your wife is and if she can run the show for extended periods of time independently and still be compatable with you when you are together. It's a rare combination. Takes a lot of give and take on both sides and complete trust that the two of you have the same goals.. I wish you the best of luck.
