Watching the news this morning they showed a new helicopter in NYC specifically designed to fight terrorisim. It's price tag is 14 million dollars. Said to have 4 million dollars worth of detectors onboard to detect radiation from a 200 foot flyover. When asked where'd the money come from with the economy the way it is. The spokesman simply said oh NYC is very important to the US economy and federal funding paid for it. Apparently Federal dollars are different from the hard earned tax payer money that we personally have to deal with.

You can bet it didn't come from any congressman's pay. They sure don't have a problem taking from seniors and vets though.
Of lavish vacations for the first family....I can't even start to tell you how mad that makes me.

At least it's not the obama's on some lavish vacation.

However, presentation is everything. People look at something like this and say "I feel much safer now and all is good since it came from federal funds." They don't hear the question being answer since it stops just short of having an answer. This comes from the Bill Clinton book of telling an effective lies. It's sicken really! We're embroiled in a society of "I did not have sex with that woman" accepting that as an answer without question. If we don't demand, If we don't follow up for a definitive answer, we are doom to become sheep and eventually sheep led to slaughter.

This is no different than if a husband went out and bought a boat and when he brings it home and is asked "how did we afford the boat when we can't pay the mortage"? And he says "oh I used our credit card" expecting the answer to make it alright. Early in my Naval career I served on a state of the art Guided Missle Destroyer which had a reported price tag of 19 million. I have to ask, what kind of helicopter costs 14 million dollars. I would have to say one that had a lot of payoff's involved. After all when you are spending tax payer's money all you have to do is bribe the controller of the money which opens the money vault. A committee authorizes the purchase and then the controller signs off on the payments. Like the old joke goes. It was decided that the White House needs a new door. Four contractors were selected to bid. Contractor A, came in and measured the door and made a material list and placed a bid of $4,000 to replace the door. Contractor B came in and saw the bid of Contractor A and submitted a bid of $3,000. Contractor C didn't show up because he was in court being sued. Contractor D shows up and see's the bid's and submits his bid for $15,000. How do you expect to win the job? Easy he said, we will sub the job to Contractor B to do and split the remaining $12,000 between us as fee's. It's how it's done, unfortunately..
