Cleaned her TB tonight.

So once again I thank this wonderful club and those that started it.
Tonight I finally made the time to clean her TB. ( I set it up for ya Jay )

I want to thank Hemi-Pup for his TB report/how to he posted some months back.

I have rebuilt more than my share of engines and I used to be the go to guy when someone needed their carburetor rebuilt. Uh you young pups out there that is what they used to use before this fuel injection system was invented. Back with 8-track tapes. so doing this really wasn't a big deal, just needed the time, like Pup said less then 45mins.

Any who it was no problem cleaned up nicely, I didn’t think it really looked that bad but it was rather thick.

Took it out for a short test run, didn’t notice a big difference I think the slight hesitation is gone and seems to pick up speed a little better .

Roberx when you read this, you know that curve right before the house? And the house next to mine that is going to be for sale soon? As I came out of that curve i went WOT and as i was passing that house we were knocking on 75mph building speed nicely.

Moral of this story and it has been told here more then once.
Take the time to do this PM and clean the TB you will be glad you did. heck it was easier then rebuilding the carb. on the tractor this morning.

Dayum Dave.. that's some nasty buildup... did you also replace the PCV?

I threw a code cleaning mine cause I couldn't cover the opening enough with my hand.. but.. I just disconnected the battery for a minute and everything went back to normal... well.. a bit better than.

yep, took the girls to breakfast yesterday morning and yes, i finaly did notice a big improvement. there had always been a very very slight sluggnish or hesitation before but after ahwile ya get used to it and fall into the 'that's noraml' routine. after driving for some time, well it helped.

PCV valve should be in today, but must go to funeral home frist.

thru lots of codes 4 or 5 of them. reset by pulling cable, went away but came back.
reset again. by pulling fuse and they went away and was gone yesterday but this morning was back and just min ago she called and said it was gone.

i need to tell her how to check the codes and write them down for me.

yeah i was wondering if this was excessive or not just hit 58,883.

well.. as I'm the furthest from a mechanic here I couldn't tell you if it was excessive.. although it SOUNDS excessive... hey.. you know what?? I have no idea what codes mine threw in the first place... my check engine light came on.. I disconnected the battery... reconnected it.. started her up.. no lights.. no probs.. LOL
