I know there are a couple of you that enjoy photography and pictures from the past. Well these are from a time that only Jay could remember.

These pictures were taken from color slides found at the Library of Congress.

They are dated between 1939-1943.

The pictures are so clear and the color is so vibrant, it looks as though they could have been taken just yesterday.

Great stuff! A lot of it looks like Norman Rockwell subjects.

Poignant images. I like the reference to Norman Rockwell. Saturday Evening Post was a favourite of my father, though it was always a month out of date by the time it got to our shores back in the days when men wore hats.
My dad was a carpenter and he wore hat,white shirt and tie to work everyday.
