Anyone have ClearWire wireless Internet??

I'm checking into getting Clearwire for my internet connection because I'm having a lot of trouble with Time Warner. My highspeed is all of 221kbps right now.

Anyone have Clearwire?
Anyone know someone who has it?
Do they like it?
Did you have highspeed cable before and is Clearwire better?

Any info anyone has would be appreciated.

yep, but you can't belive how nice that 100kbps to 130kbps is when you normal connect at 28 to 36kbps on dial up........it's screaming..

LOL! You are correct. My Comcast runs between 8 Mbps and 15 Mbps. One weekend it was down so we switched back to dial-up. Aaaarrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhh! That was excruciatingly slow. Even though it's expensive, I couldn't go back.

Anyone have ClearWire wireless Internet??

I checked into Clearwire,,,not available in my area. After two weeks of really enjoying my air card it's started dropping connections too. I guess it's the weather. Still haven't gotten me an antenna, but I'm working on it. One minute it's hooking up and the next it's disconnected. Still beats 21 to 24kbps.

Dropped connection twice trying to make this post.

same here Doug, just bad reception here at the house.
if your good outside, once you get your 'long wire' you should be good.

never have problems when i am in 'good' reception areas.

I'm used to 1.5Mbps or better, so that's why I was asking about Clearwire. They claim 2Mbps for $42/month. I'm worried about reception problems.

this is what Verizon claims here. good luck.
clearwire is not an option here.

Typical download speeds average 600–1400 kbps based on our network tests with 5 MB FTP data files, without compression. Typical upload speeds average 500–800 kbps. Actual speeds and coverage may vary. If usage exceeds 5 GB/line/month, we reserve the right to reduce throughput speeds to a maximum of approximately 200 Kbps.

They'll reduce your speed to 200kbps if they think you're too fast??? What kinda naziism is that?
