Any one know 4 wheelers??

I have a 1998 Polaris sportsman 500 with 1123 miles on it. Got it new.
The story is I parked it just before winter was running fine. I used stabile in it ran it with the gas off until it quit. I have another one with a plow for snow if needed. (Ran it dry also)
Anyway went to get it and the battery is dead. (figures) I have a charger with the start mode and it cranks great but has no spark. I know I need a new battery because it wont take a charge. I figure it would start with a jump. NOT. Does the battery have anything to do with giving it spark. I don't want to throw a 100 dollar battery at it if its not going to start. I don't have a trailer anymore so its hard to take it in for a repair. and its going to take about 4-5 people to push it up in my truck. I don't think its going to fit in it and I don't have ramps. The closes repair shop is 70 miles
I just don't understand why it did this my other one fired right up same bike but its a 2000 sportsman 500 HO. Was going to swap batteries but I cant get the bolts loose on the good one. I will cross that when it happens. ANY IDEAS.

The coil are known to fail without warning it could also be the pickup the steel trigger may be rotted away and not actually triggereing the coil to fire. This older bikes are like giant lawn mowers same ignition setups

Check the on/off switch... maybe it's not making contact. Had a Honda that did this... just a thought.
