2014 Ram HD 392 HEMI announced


Chrysler Press Release: 6.4-liter "392" V8 now an option on 2014 Heavy Duty Rams, and standard in Power Wagon!

They also announced that " 2014 Ram 1500 to offer the first available light-duty diesel engine in a half ton truck! " But.. Thats not important

Good news. Now they need to put the 392 in the 1500 RCSB Rams.

With them putting it in the HD's I imagine some guys will be trying the swap. I'd imagine it would be much more comparable of a swap. Right Josh? **** the Ripp lol

A 2014 6.4 swap would cost more than building one unless somehow you came by one cheap it will be awhile before the 6.4 hits a 1500 but it will likely happen and I'm guessing the cost will be shown in the price

I'm curious to see the outcome of the 3.0L TD 1500's after a year or two on the road. Not to go derailing....

At 410 hp and 429 lb-ft, this 6.4L has been ridiculously de-tuned for the application. Crate 392's were putting down over 500 hp/tq out of the box a few years ago. Dodge has left a TON of power on the table. The HDs are going to be monsters with little more than a cam, tune, and airflow mods.

Same engine, same potential. Intake manifold might be slightly different, along with the tuning.
