2013 GC SRT8 Opinions

Hi All,

It has been a very long time since I have been on here. A lot has happened, I lost my Job in 2009 and then had a heart attack, then went to school and got a masters degree and finally just landed a job at the beginning of the year. Its been a CRAZY ride.

I did some searching here regarding the 2013 Jeep GC SRT8 and couldn't find to much info. So I thought id make a post. I have been thinking about getting one, maybe at the end of the year and I was wondering what are all your opinions?

I like em. Saw a couple at the auto show last year. Above my pay grade to be sure. But if I was to get a JGC SRT8, I'm still a little partial to the earlier model body style with the 6.1 litre engine.

You don't like the 6.4? My biggest concern is that supposedly there was some issues with the tranny last year (it was real sluggish). So I was wondering if they fixed that?

The 2014 JGC SRT will have the 8 speed torqueflight behind the 6.4

Oh I absolutely love the 6.4. But I like the earlier body style that has the 6.1 better. And I'd be willing to trade a few ponies for what I consider the better looking STR8.

But a 2014 JGCSRT8 with an 8 speed sounds awesome.

if you're not looking to mod your GC SRT8 than I say by all means go for it, but if you know you want to dive into the motor I would suggest going with the older 6.1L because there's so much you can do and you don't have to worry about the damned VVT.
