We here in Branson for a couple of days and it's tough seeing a lot of the places we visited last year damaged or gone. Celebration Station is shut down, the hotel across from the Titanic is gone, Starvin Marvin's and the hotel next door are so badly damaged they will have to be torn down. Many shopping centers and hotels are "gone" or still being cleared. Wish I could have taken pictures but you all remember what the traffic is like here....it's still bad but not as bad as it was. We all saw pictures on the news earlier this year, but it's amazing how much actually was destroyed or damaged.
We're heading to the Branson landing to see the water show that was out of commission last year due to the flooding. They have had some bad luck the last couple of years.

Sad to hear Doug. Did the hotel we stayed at survive?

Haven't gotten that far yet. Looks as though it came into town from the southwest around Celebration Station and within a few blocks crossed over 76 where everything is located and started running parallel with the highways north side. So many of the places that are open for business still have roof damage. Construction and demolition is everywhere. The shopping center where Wal-Mart is got hit and the place where we all rode go-carts has vacant lots next to it...can't remember if it was a hotel or what. the damage is mind boggling.

It is horrible. I want to say the tornado hit along the 76 highway the main strip.

Doug, how long you in Branson? We would have came down to meet up for dinner or something. We are only about 2 hours or so north...

Thanks Lisa but we're already home. Tried to make a few side trips and the weather did it to us again. Fog and rain turned us for home early.

If we had had more time and I hadn't forgotten my phone list I intended to call you anyway.
