06 Mitsu Lancer Evo IX

Anyone have any experience with these cars? I am extremely impressed. Been reading up on them. 4.5 0-60 and a low (and I mean low) 13 sec 1/4 mile stock. Been watching videos of them on streetfire.net against WRX-STi's and Lambo's........VERY impressive. Doing road courses right next to Gallardos and Murcielagos for that matter. And it is a 4 door. I might upgrade the Civic to one when I pay it off. Not crazy about the new ones though.

My wife really enjoys her Mitsu Eclipse Spyder, a non turbo 4!
And that is coming from someone who always needed a V8 to be happy with a car.

if you go for the evo as a daily driver, it may wear ya out. They ride really harsh. Maybe they need to add adjustable ride control. Like a sport setting, and comfort setting... (listening to myself... i must be getting old).... To hell with that. GOT FOR IT, they are stupid fast, and get mid 20mpg to boot.

I have quite a bit of experience with the Evo's and WRX's. I used to own the 3000GT VR-4. (Mitu's 3.0 V6 twin turbo 300hp AWD car of the 90's.)

Just wait though, you think the IX is sic, wait for the new Evo X to come out. They are some sic rides.

Yeah, I had one come up next to me wanting to play. I knew what it was (fast), and decided to not give him the satisfaction!

The new STI are a bit slower than the ones of past but they run extremely rich and with some dyno tuning they are amazingly even faster

The IX smokes the X. I just read the comparison article in Motor Trend magazine. Even on the evo forums they aren't happy with the X. The IX's can run very low 13's, whereas the X is rated at 14.0. It is a heavier car, has a few new bells and whistles, but so what. I don't really care for the slap shift paddles to have a 6 speed. The MR's of the IX are a straight 6 speed. Come with Bilsteins and Brembos. Hook me up!!!! As far as a stiff ride....I drive an 04 Civic now....not exactly a Cadillac on the road...lol.

Yeah, I am not crazy about the STi's. The Evo's do well against them too. On streetfire.net they compare the two and the Evo beats the STi by 3.5 seconds on a road coarse and hangs with a Lambo Gallardo on the chart. But the WRX's are nice.

Really? Well damn. I haven't been keeping up on them since they were released, that sucks!

Yeah, but they look good....and 14.0 is still respectable....especially with minor tweaks. It is a turbo car mind you.
