Sorry for the dumb questions, but here goes---are there any restrictions? Where have the last few rallies been located(except this year)? which ones have had the greatest attendance? how far do you think people are willing to drive? Where are the most active members located(Fld maybe)? Does the rally always have to be in the summer, or can it be in the spring or fall(I know kids have school etc) Do you think enough people are interested to even have a national rally--maybe localize them to particular sections of the country? I know I'm new to this and I don't mean to start any sh*t I guess I'm just looking for some historical information that might be helpful to entice more people to participate.
Thanks,
Jay

2013 - Eureka Springs, Arkansas
2012 - Huntsville, Alabama
2011 - Branson, Missouri
2008 - Sandusky, Ohio
2007 - Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
2006 - Arlington, Texas
2005 - Arlington, Texas
2004 - Daytona, Florida

Those were the locations of the "Official Rallies"

There have been numerous regional GTG's and group GTG's all over the US.

I went to 2012 Huntsville and it was a blast first rally I attended if you can make one Deff go

I would say that Florida is by far the most active members we just can't stop (mod monkey won't leave) and new friends and a hemi family are fun

I like the southern states personally but that's just me don't care much for planes (like to be in control of my life) I would prefer to drive to a rally myself

I've made them all except the very first Rally in Florida, The best, or most popular have been the Pigeon Forge and Sandusky Rally's. Because of the variety of things to do, and the number of members that attended. Both Branson and Huntsville were great, but like most places there once you've been there, and done that you want to see something new. One of our members suggested Salt Lake City, Utah, which would be great except it is so far from our active member base I doubt anyone could or would drive that far. If he submits a proposal we'll see......
Jay ask about the Rally's being in the summer.... A lot of our members have kids at home and it just isn't possible for most of them to be out of school any other time of the year. Another thing to consider is the diminished attendance. Whether it's the economy or lack of interest there just doesn't seem to be much activity, or interest anymore. We had a good time in Eureka Springs, but so few attended. It sure wasn't like the old days.
We went back to Branson after the tornado tore everything up and it sure was a mess. Fun as it was I personally don't have any desire to go back. Sorry Lisa, but that's just us.
Other than the 2 rally's mentioned some of our best GTG's have not been National Rally's. Hemi's and Battleships, and the St. Augustine GTG's were great...except for the heat. Anyone wanting to host any type of GTG just needs to post a suggestion and see who might be interested. Some of us will try to go anywhere our members/friends want to spend a few days having fun.
I have a feeling that the days of a National Rally are a thing of the past. Unless activity picks up we are more likely to be stuck with local GTG's that are open to anyone. There is a lot of work that goes into hosting a Rally and not many are able, or willing to put the time into such an effort. I hope I'm wrong and we get several proposals for next year. Maybe one place will spark the interest that's needed to have a great crowd attend. Just my $.02 worth.

I was going to work on one for Branson, Piegon Forge, and possibly Orlando.... there is so much to do in Orlando it looks like besides the Disney Parks.... Those were my opinions....
