Sound about right?

Its a 05 4X4 and the mods are listed in my sig. Im still running the heavy factory 20's with 305/50/20 all terrians, but the best time i could manage was a 9.866 @ 73.48 1/8 mile and a 15.193 @ 90.12 1/4 mile. I know all trucks are different, but it seems kind of slow. Btw the truck ran a 15.8 bone stock. Let me know what you guys think, thanks

Ben

Have you weighed your truck on the track scales? Those times may be in line with the weight.

The rule of thumb is every 100 pounds you take off your truck lowers 1/4 mile ET by about 1/10 second. As I recall my 2x4 RCSB weighed less than 4900 pounds with me in it. When my truck was basically stock except for the Airaid MIT, Flowmaster muffler, and Superchips it was turning 14.60s 1/4 mile times with no problem.

By the way, when I took out the spare tire and jack that alone was a lot of weight gone.

geez thats crazy fast for nearly stock! I never have my spare tire under the truck, it got stolen and i never put the new one back under lol. The 15.1 is the best time ive gotten at the track, but ive beat my buddies supercharged cobolt ss, dont they run faster then 15's?

Swap your flowmaster for a better flowing muffler. A lighter set of wheels and tires would help a lot too.
Looks like we have the same truck with awfully similar mods. I've been to the track once, truck ran a 14.3 on a light set of 17" snow tires

Replacing that helps a bunch. I'm using the Magnaflow stamped stainless steel y-pipe 2.5" to 3"

Yup, once you open up that exhaust and let that cam breathe, I think you'll notice a big difference. There are a few threads in the exhaust section listing the better flowing mufflers
