First time to the track in 5 years

I hadn't been to the track since I bought my 07 back so I figured it was time. I had to put a different motor and transmission in it (both stock) and it has stock size tires on it so I figured if I could run at least a 15.0 I would be happy. Get a good baseline again

75 degrees and humid. First 2 runs were 15.0 and got better from there. Ran back to back 14.77 as my best. Completely stock (and I mean bone stock) I ran 14.81 with cool weather and no humidity when the truck was brand new. Not bad for being beat up for 133,000 miles.

What I did find odd was that I used to run 2.12 60' times with m&h drag radials and 3.55 gears and ran 14.5s at 92mph. After I did the 4.56 gears and Nitto 420s (sold the drag radials) I couldn't hook up for the life of me launching really light and ran 2.38 60' and 14.5 at 94mph. Now with these crappy 245/70 General tires I was hooking up pretty damn good and doing 2.16 60' 14.7 at 92mph. I have no idea how those skinny tires were hooking at all.

Going to put some caltracks back on it and get some slicks and see if I can't knock a few tenths off next time. I did surprise a lot of people out there. Almost beat a camaro, beat an RT charger, beat a nitrous silverado, beat an SS silverado. Not bad for a beat up plain jane work truck. I'll post a few videos

Me too I would like to make another pass when it cools off to see how much I lost having a stock converter again. I never cut better than a 2.1x 60' on a stock converter(even on slicks) once I put a 2600 in I was cuttin 1.9-2.0 on street tires an a high 1.7-1.8 on a 3200 with slicks.
