1/4 mile in 4wd or not

fixin to go to the track and want the best result not sure if it is good to run in 4wd was told its not good and can blow ur transmission some insight plz-thanx in advance guys

if you have 4wd then use it. i have done countless 4wd launches stalled to 3500 and spraying right off the line, my drivetrain has held up, and that's a lot of stress on it. bottom line though if you don't want to break it, don't put it through anything it wasn't designed to handle.

1/4 mile in 4wd or not

I've done quite a few launches in 4X and then after the first shift changed back to 2x with no problems. The only thing I don't like about running a 4x on the track is that you will always lose some of your hp/tq because of your transfer case, there's no way around that other than completely changing the drive train from the back of the trans back - removing the transfer case, front drive shaft, diff and propeller shafts - take a LOT of weight off your truck, but your computer may hate you for it...

it's not going to cause any computer issues.
